Pick-up from your hotel. Drive to Ban Saphai
09:30 – 10:30 hrs
Arrival and take a boat to Done Kho. Walk around the island and learn about the tranquility of Lao village life.
Many of the houses are busy with weaving and related activities like dying and washing the fabrics, mainly silk.
10:30 – 11:00 hrs
Return to Ban Saphai to visit the handicraft center.
11:00 – 12:00 hrs
Drive to Wat Chompet to visit the temple with the giant Buddha.
Afterwards walk through the stone carving village just outside of Wat Chompet.
Watch the master carvers creating Buddha statues from small to very big size.
12:00 – 12:30 hrs
Drive to a new local Buddhist temple under construction at the banks of the Mekong for a brief.
Stop to admire the view of the river.
12:30 – 14:00 hrs
Drive to “Rose in Love” restaurant at the southern outskirts of Pakse for lunch break.
This place has Lao, Thai and Korean specialties and offers a great view towards the Mekong and Phou Salao mountain on the opposite side.
14:00 – 15:00 hrs
Drive to Talad Daoheuang or New Market, the biggest market in Southern Laos.
It is another opportunity to encounter the authentic Lao life, as this is primary a local market and not a tourist market like Jatuchak in Bangkok. You can get a haircut there, a massage, or simply stroll through the aisles and different sections like food, fresh goods, live animals, garments, jewelry, electronics and much more.
The place is safe, people are friendly and seemingly always in a good mood, you can test your bargaining skills there!
15:00 – 16:00 hrs
Drive across the Mekong on the Japanese-Lao friendship bridge to visit Wat Phou Salao and the big Buddha overlooking the Mekong and Pakse city on the other side of the river.
16:00 – 17:00 hrs
Drive to the Chinese temple at the Mekong to watch the sunset. Return to hotel. End of tour.

You can come to GREEN PARADISE office before 09:00am or we pick you up from your accommodation on our way to the South.
Just 2 hours drive down AH 13 we arrive at Nakasang and change to local “TukTuk” to get to the KHONEPHAPENG waterfall park.
The fall itself has been labelled a variety of names such as “Biggest waterfall by volume in South-East Asia”, “Niagara of the East” and “Pearl of the Mekong”.
12:30 hrs : We return by the local “TukTuk” to Nakasang village and board a long tail boat which will ferry us across the Mekong right into the heart of the 4000 islands:

12:45 – 13:30 hrs: It is time for lunch and at your own convenience you can choose from a wide range of restaurants providing almost anything from traditional Lao/Thai dishes to special “Farang” meals like “Schnitzel”, “Hot Dog”, homemade pasta and proper, western style salads.
13:30 – 16:00 hrs : You mount your chosen bicycle at GREEN PARADISE office, and with the guidance of the provided map, you can easily find your way around and back to the starting point. The immaculate hard top road makes it very easy and safe cycling around, some side roads are unpaved and may be (Depending on the season) dusty, muddy or something in-between, nevertheless still accessible.
You can choose beforehand, wether you like cycling yourself or rather chill while sitting comfortably. In case you prefer sight-seeing from the perspective of a local “Samlo” or “TukTuk”, we will arrange it for you (+7USD extra charge).
16:15 – 16:30 hrs : Cross the Mekong back to NAKASANG to board your minivan.
16:45 – 18:30 hrs : Drive back on AH13 to GREEN PARADISE Pakse office.
