Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 (08:00 AM) : Pakse to Ban Nakasang Transit
The day begins with a drive by minivan through the peaceful countryside to Ban Nakasang, a small riverside village. From here, you will board a ferry boat and enjoy the ride across the river to Don Khone Island. The journey on the water is relaxing and gives you your first taste of life on the Mekong.
Day 1: Scenic rural drive and boat transit to the 4000 Islands
DAY 1 (Midday) : Historic French Bridge & Locomotive
When you arrive at Don Khone, you will walk across the French colonial bridge that connects Don Khone and Don Det. This bridge was built in the late 1800s when the French built a narrow-gauge railway to bypass the strong rapids of the Mekong. Nearby, you can view an old locomotive that remains as a historic landmark of this era.

DAY 1 (Afternoon) : Li Phi Waterfall & Viewpoints
Explore the island and visit the famous Li Phi Waterfall (Somphamit Falls). This beautiful area features a small wooden bridge, peaceful bamboo gardens, and sandy river beaches where you can relax. A new suspension bridge offers a fantastic lookout over the rushing waters. An optional zipline adventure is available for those wanting to fly directly over the river channels.
Day 1: Taking in the dramatic vistas over the roaring Li Phi rapids
DAY 1 (Late Afternoon) : Khonepasoi Waterfall & Island Check-In
Continue by local tuk-tuk to the Khonepasoi Waterfall, a smaller but very charming cascade wrapped in local foliage. Afterward, transfer to your island hotel for check-in and evening relaxation. Overnight stay at Paradise Resort on Don Det.

DAY 2 (08:00 AM) : Khonephapeng Waterfall Exploration
A boat will be ready at your hotel pier to bring you back to Ban Nakasang. From here, continue by vehicle to the mighty Khonephapeng Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia by water volume. Stroll along shaded wooden boardwalks while watching the river crash down in thunderous power.
Day 2: Witnessing the immense power of Khonephapeng Waterfall
DAY 2 (Midday) : Don Daeng Island Lunch Break
Cross the Mekong by traditional ferry to reach Don Daeng Island. Here, you can take a refreshing break from transit and enjoy a quiet local midday meal under the shade of serene bamboo groves.
Day 2: Crossing over to the tranquil banks of Don Daeng Island for lunch
DAY 2 (Afternoon) : UNESCO Vat Phu Ancient Temple
Dedicate your afternoon to exploring Vat Phu, an ancient Khmer temple complex and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start at the museum, then ride a small electric shuttle to the base of the ruins. Walk up the ancient causeway past stone carvings of Hindu deities, and climb the steep stone steps to the upper sanctuary where a sacred holy spring flows. Drive back to Pakse in the evening to conclude the tour.
Day 2: Walking among the historic mountainside ruins of Vat Phu
